PROGRAMS FOR LANDOWNERS

Special programs provide landowners with assistance and support for developing and managing forest resources.

Forestry and Multiple-use Cost-Sharing in Alabama. Montgomery, Ala.: Productivity Subcommittee. Alabama Forestry Planning Committee, 1993. Also an E-book.
Gives important information on key programs: Stewardship Incentives Program (SIP), Forestry Incentives Program (FIP), Agricultural Conservation Program (ACP), and Alabama Agricultural and Conservation Development Commission Program (AACDCP). A convenient table shows forestry, wildlife, soil and water quality, and recreation and aesthetic practices covered by each program.

The Alabama Forestry Commission recognizes special trees: a leaflet decribes Alabama's Champion Tree Program. Also an E-book. Another pamphlet describes Alabama's Famous and Historic Tree Program. Also an E-book.

General information about the TREASURE Forest Program is found in a leaflet called TREASURE Forest: Minimum Standards and Basic Guidelines, published by the Alabama Forestry Commission. Also an E-book. A leaflet called TREASURE Forest History and Purpose, also by the Alabama Forestry Commission, promotes understanding of the TREASURE forest program.

The TREASURE Forest Award. An award for "private landowners who display their commitment to the TREASURE Forest ethic through the physical management that takes place on their land." A program of the Alabama Forestry Commission.
